Privacy policy

1. Controller

The controller responsible for the processing of personal data on this website is
omaneo GmbH, Görlitzer Straße 5, 41460 Neuss, represented by the Managing Director, Dieter Eitz.
Email: espresso@omaneo.de · Phone: +49 2131 5952469.
The website is the personal website of Dieter Eitz, Managing Director of omaneo GmbH.

2. The most important points first

This website sets no cookies, uses no counters and no analytics or advertising services
and loads no content from third-party servers (even the fonts are on our own server).
Personal data arises only when you open the page (section 3), write a comment
(section 4) or write to us (section 5).

3. Server log files

When the page is called up, the web server on which this site runs (hosted at Hetzner, section 6) automatically
records information that your browser transmits: the full IP address, browser type and version,
operating system, referrer URL, and date and time of access. These logs are kept for 14 days
and then deleted; they are not combined with other data sources. The legal basis is
Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in the error-free and secure provision of the
website (troubleshooting, defence against attacks).

4. Comments

What data. If you write a comment on a post, we process the name you enter
(a pseudonym is enough), your comment text and the date and time of submission.
No email address is requested, and you do not need an account.

Review and publication. Your comment does not appear immediately: a person reads it first and approves it
or not. If it is approved, name, date and text are public and visible to all visitors of the site
and can be copied by third parties and found by search engines. Please therefore do not include any data
about yourself or others that is not meant to be public. We do not alter your text — we publish
it in full or not at all. We do not notify you of the decision, because we have no contact details.
The author of the site may reply to your comment; the reply is marked as such.

Spam protection. To ward off automated submissions, the form works without third-party services: with
a hidden field, a minimum time between loading and submitting (a timestamp signed by the server,
which is not stored in the browser) and a limit on the number of submissions per connection. For this purpose
we store not your IP address, but only a short value calculated from it (a hash with a daily changing key)
— for 24 hours at most. This value, too, is personal data;
it is not published. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in warding off spam and
abuse). No automated decision with legal effect within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR
takes place.

Legal basis and revocation. The storage and publication of name and comment is based on your
consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by ticking the box on the form. It is voluntary; without it
we cannot accept the comment. You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future —
write to espresso@omaneo.de and state the post, date and name of the comment,
and we will delete it (together with the author’s reply to it). The lawfulness of the processing carried out
until then remains unaffected.

Storage period.

  • Approved comments remain stored until you have them deleted or we remove the post.
  • Comments that are not approved are permanently deleted 30 days after the decision (to clarify

follow-up questions and to guard against repeated abuse).

  • The short value for spam protection is deleted after 24 hours at most.

5. Contact by email or telephone

If you write to us or call us, we process your details (name, email address, content of your message)
in order to answer your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). We delete them as soon as the enquiry is dealt with
and no statutory retention obligation stands in the way. We do not have a contact form of our own.
We keep reports about comments and our decision on them for 6 months as evidence.

6. Hosting and recipients

This website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany
(data processor, contract under Art. 28 GDPR; Legal notice).
No transfer to countries outside the EU/EEA takes place. Beyond that, we do not pass on data
to third parties unless we are legally obliged to do so.

7. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17),
restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection to processing based
on Art. 6(1)(f) (Art. 21) — as well as the right to revoke consent you have given (section 4).
Because we do not collect an email address for comments, we can only assign your request if you identify
the comment precisely (post, date, name); we may ask for further details to make sure that the request
comes from the person who wrote the comment. We will answer your request without undue delay, and at the latest within one month.

8. Complaint to a supervisory authority

You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, e.g. with the State Commissioner for Data Protection
and Freedom of Information North Rhine-Westphalia, Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf.

9. Data protection contact

For all questions about data protection: espresso@omaneo.de.
